Sustainability is of fundamental importance to AGOM and represents a key point that directs both the company management as a whole and the design and manufacture of the products themselves.

The materials and suppliers are selected, as well as on the basis of the necessary technical and quality characteristics, also on the basis of their proximity to the company to limit as much as possible the environmental impact related to the transport of goods.

The products themselves take into account sustainability aspects, implementing the principle of durability in their design: increasing the service life of the product allows both to reduce the costs of maintenance a work by the end customer and to reduce the environmental impact that derives from the disposal of devices at the end of their life.

For example, the elastomeric couplings of the AGMJ series have been designed and tested in such a way as to guarantee a service life 50% longer than that of previous generation couplings. The spherical bearings with special AgomGlide material have a service life, certified by the wear test carried out to acheive the relevant ETA document, five times longer than the standard PTFE bearings based on the most well-known regulations on the subject.

AGOM is also actively involved in the technical commission of the trade association UNICMI which is studying the problems of Carbon Footprint, Life Cycle Assessment and Environmental Product Declaration of bridge bearings and road expansion joints.
